About

Philip J. Mancini is a classical guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, speaker and storyteller. His repertoire as a classical guitarist will add an extra touch of elegance to any wedding or event. As the Fishin’ Musician, he entertains audiences at meetings, banquets, and events with his lively fishing songs and stories. Booking is handled through Love The Arts! Inc.

Philip was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania. His musical journey began as a young teenager; his brother, Tony, began to play bass guitar, and Philip wanting to follow his older brother, began to play guitar. It was not long before Philip wanted to branch out into the intriguing world of classical guitar. His talents were realized early, and he began performing and teaching his guitar skills at the age of 16.

In 1988, he began his formal training at Mansfield University under the tutelage of Gary Guth and Mark Stewart. At Mansfield, Philip majored in classical guitar with an emphasis in voice, performed in their acclaimed Concert Choir, and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music.

He and his wife, Kim, and daughter, Amber, own Love The Arts! Music, a music studio serving all your musical needs in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Philip  travels as a touring musician giving concerts and speaking. He produces and records for Love The Arts! Recording.

Philip is a Samick endorsed artist and plays instruments designed by Greg Bennett for Samick, Dake Traphagen Classical Guitars, and folk instruments built by Phil Clark.

Philip's musical style incorporates classical influences into a peaceful; yet, stimulating sound that will capture the soul and imagination.

If you can't find Philip on the road performing or in his studio, look to the sky, highway or nearest stream where you'll find him flying at 4000 feet, cruising on his motorcycle, or fly fishing for one of God's beautiful creations the Brook trout.
